The Walls Came Tumbling Down … And Then Back Up!

I left the library Friday night, and the collection had been moved to shelving or carts. I and was housed in the new construction, AND the walls were all standing. I came in Saturday at noon and the walls were gone!! In two-and-a-half hours, the outside north wall, and the east and west walls of the staff office were gone. The transformation was unbelievable! The space instantly increased and the vision began to take shape.

Within three days stud walls began going back up. We can now see what is going to be the work space for each staff member, the staff lounge the doorway into the community room, and the space for the work island behind the circulation desk. The columns for the permanent art exhibit, created by the youth of our community, were built and the wiring for the “hobbit tree” was evident.

It is so exciting and finally after months of planning, digging, fundraising, building and moving – it is REAL!
