Miss Bobbi's Blog:
Library Land of OZ
Posted on Wednesday, June 29, 2011
Guest blogging for Miss Bobbi this week is Board Member Priscilla Swiat
It was entering the Land of Oz, in reverse, for our Board members’ first visit into the new addition. We stepped through the side door of the colorful library reading room into the dark, black, white and wood expansion. The space seemed HUGE, tall wooden ceiling, high windows, strange corners here and there, a blank opening for the fireplace and skeletons of studs defining unknown rooms.
Bob Chrissman, our building contractor, showed us around pointing out the History Room, Teen area, entrance with two bathrooms, lighting ideas, our beautiful new circulation/check out desk and the spot for the Hobbit Tree in the children’s area.
“We’re under cover at last”, he said. “Now we’ll be able to finish up quickly as possible without worrying about weather delays. Our next group of wonderful electricians who have volunteered their time will be coming soon.”
Very exciting!
