Solved: The Mystery of the Misses

If you spend much time at the Library, you can’t help but notice that patrons (especially younger ones) tend to refer to staff members as “Miss ____.”

It started years ago when a preschooler referred to the director as “Miss Bobbi.” It stuck … with the kids, with their parents, with us and now, years later, with most of the community.

So every member of our staff now has Miss as a permanent prefix to their name – even those who are married.
