The Schoolcraft Community Library will be offering Child DNA/ID kits to parents of children thru 6th grade thru a program known as Project Safekids. Project Safekids is a community service organization that offers the most advanced child safety programs and services in the country. Each kit contains fingerprinting, a place for a school photo, places for biographical and caregiver information, DNA storage card, dental chart and a plastic protective sleeve to store it in. Each kit will cost $4.00. The Schoolcraft Community Library will be offering 2 dates (Thursday, June 14th from 2-5 P.M. and Tuesday, August 7th from 5-7 P.M.) for parents to register to bring their children to complete these DNA/ID kits or parents may just register to purchase kits to take home and follow the instructions to complete the kits at home. In order to have enough DNA/ID kits on hand we are asking that parents, who are interested, call the library and order the number of DNA/ID kits they would like to purchase by Friday, May 25th at 5 P.M. Parents may register for one of the 2 dates offered at the library at that time as well, but it is NOT necessary to attend the library program to order the DNA/ID kits. Since there is a MINIMUM number of kits that have to be ordered, if at that time the library does not have enough DNA/ID kits preordered, all orders will be canceled as well as the above dates for completing the kits at the library. So, call the library today if you are interested in the DNA/ID kits. The offer will end on May 25th. |
