"Battle of the Books" is a voluntary reading incentive program sponsored by the Schoolcraft Community Library and is open to 4^th, 5^th, and 6^th graders. The competitions consist of library staff members asking detailed questions about books from a predetermined reading list. Each "Battle Team" consists of 6 students who must provide the correct answer and book author to score points. Teams with the highest cumulative score after 21 questions (3 rounds of 7 questions each), during the "Qualifying Battle", will earn the right to participate in the "Grand Battle".

Qualifiying and Grand Battles are held at the Schoolcraft High School Performing Arts Center (PAC) located at 552 East Lyons Street (2 blocks east of 131).

Thursday, November 5th at 7 P.M. at the Schoolcraft Upper Elementary Library

TEAM REGISTRATION
Team Registration Forms are due on Friday, November 13th, 2009.
Forms can be faxed to the library at 269-679-5599 or emailed to schlib2(at)myrural.net or mailed to Schoolcraft Community Library, 330 North Centre St., Schoolcraft, Michigan 49087 or dropped off in person. Please be prompt.

SUBSTITUTIONS
Last day for substitutions is Friday, December 4th, 2009.

Shirt Orders are due Friday, December 4th, 2009. Please remember that checks are to be made out to Midwest Printing and Promotion and to have only one check per team. Cash will not be accepted.

Team names & captains are due Friday, January 8th, 2010.

SHIRT DELIVERY & PICKUP
Monday, January 11th, 2010. Shirts delivered to Schoolcraft Community Library. Pick up after 4 P.M.
